About Us

The Krab Kettle is located in Florence, Oregon, the heart of the Oregon central coast. The “Kettle” as the locals affectionately know it, has been situated in the same place for over 45 years. During that time, it has gained a well-deserved reputation for handling only the finest and freshest of seafood products.
Almost two decades ago, the Krab Kettle was purchased by the current owners, Al & Pam Pazar. At the time of purchase, the “Kettle” was just a small crab shack servicing the seafood needs of a very small town. Since then, the town has grown by leaps and bounds and the original “Kettle” has now been replaced with a brand new facility.
The “Kettle” has gained its excellent reputation by consistently offering fresh seafood. This is possible because the Pazar’s operate their own fishing/crabbing boat the “Delma Ann” which is part of the Newport, OR fleet. It is by way of this boat that most of our fresh seafood products arrive at the “Kettle” and are passed on to our satisfied customers.

If you ever get to Florence, OR, be sure to stop by and say hello. Usually Karen, the Kettle’s store manager and chief cook and bottle-washer will greet you. You’ll see our case, which contains fresh cooked Dungeness crabs, seasonal fresh fish and a host of smoked fish products such as Chinook salmon, Albacore Tuna, Halibut and bottom fish. Additionally, we offer the best fresh oysters in the country; both in-shell and shucked, not to mention Pacific steamer clams too. We also have a line of canned products, including Chinook salmon and Albacore Tuna. Folks often tell us that our Albacore Tuna “is to die for”. We won’t go that far, but we will say that it’s pretty darn good stuff, unlike any canned Tuna that you’ve ever had before.

Crabs R US

Jen Pazar, the 100th Anniversary Florence Rhody Festival Queen , looks over a batch of freshly cooked crabs. We catch 'em, cook 'em, clean 'em and then bring them to you... all you have to do is eat 'em! It's what made us famous!
We often tell folks: "buying one crab is like buying one potato chip!"
Having company or a family gathering? Most folks figure on serving 1 crab per person. If you are fortunate enough to have some leftover, turn it into a crab salad. It won't go to waste, trust us!

When Available, We have Salmon Too.
|
 |
 |
During the Salmon season which usually runs from mid-March to mid-September, we offer the public fresh wild Chinook Salmon caught from our own boat. We steak and fillet them for you right on premises. It simply doesn't get any fresher than that! If you've never tasted fresh wild Chinook, then you're in for a real treat. These are best that the Pacific has to offer. We can arrange to ship them too.
Please note that the 2009 Oregon salmon season remains closed until further notice. If and when it does open we will post immediate notice on this website.
Also remember... "friends don't let friends eat farm-raised salmon"

Here's a photo of our original case located inside our store. The case contains our fresh cooked dungeness crab, fresh oysters, fresh seasonal fish and containers of our smoked products... like smoked albacore tuna, smoked wild sockeye salmon, smoked halibut and smoked bottom fish. Additionally, we often have fresh picked crabmeat available along with items like our famous salmon stix, steamer clams, in-shell oysters, and buckets of fresh shucked oysters...
